Imanext has established an extensive network of imaging sites and required cGMP manufacturers for molecular imaging. The current list of sites consists of 28 different countries in Europe, America, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Imanext has contracts with the sites making it possible to conduct single-site or multi-center trials.

"Imanext is looking forward to strengthen the network of the imaging sites. The goal is to bring our clients new possibilities for state-of-art non-clinical, and clinical imaging services. The network allows also an efficient use of their R&D budgets to conduct specialized trials", says Kim Bergström, CEO of Imanext Ltd.

FOCUS ON: Microdosing may decrease clinical failure rates

Microdosing enables better selections earlier in the drug development process. Microdosing is a new concept which may facilitate drug development process, and it is defined as the use of less 1/100th of the therapeutic dose of an investigated new drug. By labeling the drug molecule, microdosing studies may be performed either by investigating plasma/tissue samples with accelerator mass spectrometry (AMS) [in some cases also using LC-MS-MS systems] or by in vivo radionuclide imaging methods (PET and SPECT).
